The next stop on my Jordan adventure was Wadi Rum. I went hiking and on a 4WD tour through the desert. I had a dramatic start to my trip in Jordan 🇯🇴 as I was caught in the flash floods in Petra. These pictures were taken before the rain. I was walking through the Siq to the exit when a flash flood was coming my way and I was evacuated to the Treasury. Over 4000 tourists had to be evacuated and Petra is now closed. Sadly 12 people were killed as a result of the floods in Jordan. I hope that no further floods hit Jordan and that they can develop better infrastructure to prevent further loss of life. Sofia in Bulgaria 🇧🇬 was my final stop on my Balkan tour. I really appreciated being somewhere with public transport infrastructure again! My trip around the Balkans has been epic and would highly recommend travelling around the area. Unfortunately the weather was rather grey but Skopje (in Macedonia 🇲🇰) was an eclectic city. Skopje 2014 was a multi million Euro project which resulted in an array of pointless statues (including a pirate ship).
