A group of us have embarked on a grand adventure, we are working through the a-z of world cuisines and all within the safety of the m25. We have endeavoured to pick more unusual cuisines so that we can broaden our culinary horizons. Some letters are problematic, for example O, i cannot find any Oman restaurants but I am sure we will find solutions.
First stop – Afghanistan! Afghan Kitchen is a tiny restaurant in Angel and is home to Afghan home cooking. We agreed that sharing dishes would be the best way to sample more of the cuisine so we ordered a variety of dishes. All the mains were delicious, I particularly loved the chicken in yogurt and the fish stew. The lamb was succulent and flavourful and the aubergine was moreish. The flatbreads were bigger than my head so definitely not recommended for the Atkins inclined. Portions were fairly generous and the bill was very reasonable. I would love to go back and sample their food again. I have no idea how authentic their food is but it is delicious nonetheless.
